ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Floors daily washing and coatings can be done using hot water and a neutral detergent (Fila Cleaner, Bona Main)
SPECIAL MAINTENANCE
Sometimes it’s hard to restore the floor to its original beauty. In these case, you must act more aggressively.
Usually mainly two events can occur:
• Construction site dirt - Fila Deterdek
• Floors with stubborn dirt - Fila PS87

MARBLE AND NATURAL STONES MAINTENANCE

After removing impurities through the use of a broom or vacuum cleaner, we recommend to clean using a neutral detergent (PH7) watered down.
Please do not use:
• acid products on marble, such as alcohol and denatured alcohol (the pink one), vinegar and lemon juice that have corrosive effects on the surface; in case of stubborn stains you can use ammonia;
• descaling products: marble, travertine, slate, onyx are almost entirely made up of limestone and descaling products would create cavities for the dissolution of calcite. Against limescale deposits on floors and interior trim, preventive treatments are an excellent solution.
If the floor is subjected to heavy traffic, it should be rinsed daily with water and neutral watered down detergent. The periodic manual or mechanical polishing through the application of wax also has a protective and water-repellent effect to keep the original brightness of the floor.
Usually, the detergent must be neutral, but in certain situations is not sufficient to clean. It is better to use other solutions such as ammonia or bleach that are good on natural stones.
Generally speaking, we distinguish the acid products from those with alkaline reaction. The acid-based compounds (eg. Hydrochloric acid) inappropriate for treatment on stones like marble, travertine and sandstone based on limestone matrix; anyway they can be used on silica based stones as granite, porphyry, serizzo, gneiss and quartzite.
The compounds in alkaline base, such as ammonia, are mainly used for marble, travertine, sandstone matrix limestone, slate which can not stand the acid products, but, of course, they are suitable on granite.
For smooth or glossy surfaces customers should use low concentrated products with a pH-degree slightly above neutrality. On the other hand on compact and not very sensitive materials it is possible to use concentrated solutions to bring a more drastic dilution.
In every case, after washing with acidic or basic solutions, it is always necessary to inhibit the action of the detergent, washing it away with water or with particular neutralizing substances. This is done in order to limit the corrosive power of the detergent and eliminate most of the salts formed by reaction with in view materials.
